The OT with Dirty Boots
I’m a Lancashire-born Occupational Therapist, a Rural Health Advocate, and a PhD researcher in Public Health. But more than the titles, I’m someone who understands the weight of a heavy mental load. Growing up in rural communities and navigating the world with ADHD and Dyslexia, I’ve lived the reality that ‘standard’ systems rarely work for individual brains.
Whether I’m leading national initiatives or helping someone navigate a career shift, I believe that health isn't just the absence of illness, it’s the ability to live a life that feels authentic, connected, and resilient.
What is Occupational Therapy? (The Science of You)
People often think OT is just about equipment or physical rehab. In reality, Occupational Therapy is the science of individuality. It’s about looking at the ‘Occupations’ of your life, everything from how you manage your work to how you spend your Sunday afternoon, and asking: "Is this actually working for you?" I don't believe in one size fits all wellness. I look at three specific pillars to see why things feel off:
The Person: Your unique mental wiring, your energy levels, and your lived experience.
The Environment: The physical, social, and cultural spaces you inhabit.
The Occupation: The things you need and want to do every day.
How OT-Led Coaching Builds Resilience
Resilience isn't about toughing it out. It’s about building a system that supports your mental health so you don’t have to rely on willpower alone.
I help you stop trying to fit yourself into a world that wasn't built for you. Instead, we rework your world to fit you. We focus on:
Sustainable Mental Wealth: Identifying the leaks in your energy and building routines that act as a safety net during high-stress seasons.
Individual Design: Using my background to adapt your surroundings and tasks to suit your specific brain and body.
Grounded Resilience: Finding your footing by connecting back to what matters, whether that’s exercise, sewing, piano, or simply being able to finish a workday without feeling completely drained.
It’s honest, raw support for the real world. A little bit of science, a whole lot of heart, and a plan that finally makes sense for who you are.
